Meet one of our brilliant minds, Dr. Damir Omrčen, Head of AI, Data & Engineering at SafeSize. With his extensive knowledge and expertise, Damir plays a pivotal role in driving the technological advancements that power Safesize’s cutting-edge solutions.
Damir’s pursuit of knowledge began at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Electrotechnics, specializing in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering. Driven by a thirst for knowledge, he embarked on advanced research and exploration, culminating in the completion of his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Robotics and Automation Engineering.
Tell us a bit about yourself and your journey so far
I have always been fascinated by the power of technology and its ability to transform industries. With a Ph.D. in Robotics & Automation Engineering and a strong background in data science, I have had the privilege of working on a diverse range of projects. My passion for innovation and technology has been the driving force behind my journey thus far, and I am excited to bring that passion to Safesize. My motto is “work hard, play hard”. In my free time I am pushing myself to the limits. When I can dedicate some time to myself, I love windsurfing, downhill mountain biking and skiing.
What do you love the most about being a SafeSizer?
Being a SafeSizer is an exhilarating and fulfilling experience for me. What I love the most is the culture of innovation and collaboration that permeates throughout Safesize. As the Head of AI, Data & Engineering at Safesize, I am dedicated to driving the development of groundbreaking solutions that enhance our customers’ footwear experiences. Working alongside a team of brilliant individuals who share a common goal of revolutionizing the footwear industry is incredibly inspiring. Safesize provides an environment that encourages experimentation, creativity, and problem-solving. It’s invigorating to have the opportunity to think outside the box, push the boundaries of what is possible, and witness the tangible impact of our work on customers’ lives.
